Collaboration Fuels Innovation

The Teen Entrepreneur Challenge (TEC) at Penn State Lehigh Valley/Perkiomen School educates, trains and prepares the next generation of innovators for success. Rising high school sophomores, juniors and seniors learn key strategies for starting a business or business concept, and how to develop an entrepreneurial edge. Instructors include Penn State professors, Perkiomen School teachers, successful business leaders and Penn State alumni.

Programming and Outcomes

Programming takes place at Penn State Lehigh Valley with additional programming and residency at Perkiomen School. Their 165-acre campus includes dormitories and an Innovation Center exposing campers to the latest technology including 3-D virtual reality, additive manufacturing, computer design and rapid prototyping. Case studies & benefits include:
  • new product development & taking a company/product to market
  • ideas on sustainability & improving existing processes/products
  • build a personal brand & apply for microgrants
  • develop and enhance new technology skills
  • explore STEAM educational programming
  • connect to future employers, Penn State people and students

Cost & Registration

Early bird registration before April 15, 2020 is $1,495. The registration cost after April 15, 2020 is $1,595. The program is all-inclusive and provides for housing, meals & snacks, activities, and transportation costs.

Financial Assistance

We are working diligently to secure a limited amount of funding which will be used to offer scholarships to students who apply and qualify for financial assistance. If you are a need-based student, please fill out the financial assistance application. Please note that the deadline for the application is May 1, 2020 and applying does not guarantee assistance.

Dual Enrollment

Dual Enrollment is an optional benefit of participating in the Teen Entrepreneur Challenge. Students who are accepted into the dual enrollment program can earn 3 transferable college credits at 50% off regular price tuition.
