About the LaunchBox Champion Network

What Is A Champion? 

A Champion is a supporter of the goals and initiatives of the Penn State LaunchBox Innovation Hub.  Champions will share their expertise and counsel with the LaunchBox Advisory Board and support and nurture our family of entrepreneurs. All Board members of LaunchBox Advisory Council are automatically a Champion and anyone in our broad base of community partners can also become a Champion. 

Why Become A Champion? 

• You possess expertise and experience that could be helpful to entrepreneurs starting a business.
• You have an interest in encouraging and mentoring entrepreneurs and start-ups. 
• You have an extensive network of contacts within a specific industry that could be tapped to provide additional expertise and knowledge.

 How Do Champions Provide Support?  

• Takes part in our programs as a coach and mentor to our growing network of entrepreneurs. 
• Increases awareness of LaunchBox activities and initiatives via social media and personal networks.
• Provides advice and counsel to the Advisory Board and the Advisory Board committees.
• Identifies ways that you and your network can help advance our programs and portfolios.  
• Guides new initiatives based on your expertise in a specific industry. 
• Supports LaunchBox by attending affiliated events and programs when available.
• Identify potential new candidates for the LVLB Advisory Board or consider becoming a Board member yourself.

 Expectations Of A Champion:

• Attend an initial orientation. 
• Provide up to 10 hours per year of professional expertise as a Champion to one or more of our portfolio companies or other entrepreneurs within our network.
• Attend at least 2 LaunchBox events each year.
• Maintain contact with LaunchBox regarding your interest to assist in coaching, programs, on committees, and at events.
